How the interview works

What they assess

  • Knowledge of Sheffield
  • Understanding of medicine in a wider context

How it's scored and how offers are made

  • Each MMI section is scored 1–5.
  • 5 is Excellent, 4 Good, 3 Satisfactory, 2 Borderline and 1 Unsatisfactory.
  • Your UCAT SJT is converted to a 1–5 score by quartile.
  • 1st quartile scores 5, 2nd scores 4, 3rd scores 3 and 4th scores 2.
  • MMI and SJT scores are added for a total out of 45.
  • Applicants scoring 3 or more in every MMI section and the SJT are prioritised.
  • All applicants are then ranked on total score to decide offers.
  • Unsuccessful applicants may go on a reserve list or be considered for Biomedical Science or Orthoptics.
  • Offers are subject to references, health clearance and an enhanced DBS check.
