Key dates

  • Shortlisting decisions are sent between mid-November and early December, sometimes with only a week's notice.
  • Interviews are expected in early to mid-December 2026.
  • Decisions are released via UCAS on 12 January 2027.

How the interview works

  • You will have at least one online interview on Microsoft Teams.
  • Shortlisted applicants are interviewed by two colleges.
  • One is your chosen or allocated college; the second is assigned at random.
  • At each college you meet at least two academics and at least one practising clinician.
  • The number and format of interviews may vary by college.
  • Interviews are academic conversations.
  • Interviewers do not know your college choice or UCAT score.
  • No written work is required.

What they assess

  • Academic potential
  • Suitability for medicine

How it's scored and how offers are made

  • All colleges use the same selection criteria.
  • Each college ranks every candidate it interviews.
  • Colleges then see the second college's ranking and your UCAT score.
  • Colleges submit a final ranking, and offers are made on that.
