Key dates

  • The first round of MMIs takes place in December.
  • KMMS may hold further MMIs in February or March for applicants not invited in the first round.
  • Offers begin going out in batches; the decision deadline is May 2027.

How the interview works

  • KMMS uses Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs), and attending is a mandatory part of your application.
  • In recent years there have been six short stations followed by a 40-minute group station.
  • Each short station lasts 7 minutes, with a 3-minute interval between stations.
  • Station types have included data handling, problem analysis, situational judgement, role-play, a task and a values-based scenario.
  • In the group station you are assessed individually.
  • The number and type of stations may change, but the timings are likely to stay the same.
  • MMIs are held in person on the University of Kent Canterbury campus over several days.
  • International applicants have had remote interviews with three short stations and a group station.

What they assess

  • Resilience and an all-round skill set
  • A realistic commitment to medical training
  • Commitment to quality of care and compassion
  • Understanding of NHS core values
  • Communication and teamwork
  • Treating others with dignity and respect
  • Empathy and appreciating other points of view
  • Willingness to accept responsibility
  • Academic ability and potential

How it's scored and how offers are made

  • Offers are sent in batches through KentVision and UCAS until May.
  • Accept or decline your offer promptly so the next batch of offers can be made.
  • All offers carry health and disclosure conditions, including vaccinations and an enhanced DBS check.
