Key dates
- Interviews run from December 2026 to April 2027.
- The earliest decisions are expected in January or February 2027.
- Keele aims to send final decisions (offer, reserve or reject) by the end of March 2027, with some in April.
How the interview works
- You will have two 15-minute interviews, usually about 2 hours apart.
- Interviews are held online using Microsoft Teams.
- You need your own suitable technology to take part.
- Every candidate has a similarly structured interview.
- Reading material is sent in advance, usually 1–2 days before your interview.
- One interview uses the professionalism section (key areas of concern) of the GMC's Achieving Good Medical Practice: Guidance for Medical Students.
- The other interview uses a short case sent with your invitation.
- You are not expected to memorise anything from these texts.
- Interviewers include university staff and senior medical students, local hospital and community healthcare professionals, and lay members of the local community.
- All interviewers are trained in interviewing and in avoiding discrimination.
What they assess
- The attributes in Keele's person specification
- Understanding of the broader roles and responsibilities of doctors
- Ethical and social issues related to health and illness
How it's scored and how offers are made
- Offers are based on your interview performance.
- No applicant is offered a place without being interviewed.
- If candidates tie at the final offer threshold, they are ranked by UCAT score.
- Some candidates who narrowly miss the threshold may be placed on a reserve list.
- Offers are sent through UCAS and depend on occupational health checks and DBS clearance.
- Successful applicants are invited to an offer-holder day.
